Venuemasters' conference 2010

KUCEL Events staff scoop another award at this year's Venuemasters' conference, hosted by Nottingham Conferences. In recognition of achieving a 3 star rating for residential accommodation and services at Kingston University Walkden Halls of Residence, Kate Axten (far left) collected an award alongside some of her colleagues at fellow academic venues across the UK who all celebrated various achievements in Conferencing Services during 2009/10.
This year’s conference focussed on identifying and delivering competitive advantage and featured talks by the inspiring Andy Hanselman, Ann Holman and James Lee as well as a closing key note by Celebrity Chef Jean- Christophe Novelli.

This year's fancy dress theme was gouls and ghosts and Marcin Bober made the most fantastic Count Dracula, whilst Lorraine Leed, Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator was a convincing Morticia Addams!
Kate says :
"The conference is always a fantastic opportunity to network with colleagues in similar positions at other institutions, and to share best practice. Every year we come back from the conference brimming with new ideas and confidence in our products and services. It is great to know that we are all facing similar challenges and that Academic Venues are still leading the way in many aspects of the conference market"
